Expansion plans for TLC Care Homes

TLC Care Homes has launched a major recruitment drive as part of ambitious expansion plans being developed by its new chief executive.

The company, which has its headquarters in Halstead, supports adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs across Essex and neighbouring counties.

As well as helping people live independently in their own flats and houses or dedicated supported living schemes such as Donyland Lodge in Fingringhoe, TLC also manages a number of residential care homes, including Blamsters Farm in Halstead and homes in Clacton.

New CEO Paul Hainsworth, who was previously the Transformation and Change Director for the Lifeways Group, one of the UK’s largest providers of care services in this sector, said: “We intend to build on TLC’s excellent reputation for care to people who need our support and have ambitious plans to develop the business within Essex and beyond.

“In order to achieve this, we need high quality staff across a variety of roles, from support workers to team leaders and managers. We offer highly rewarding career opportunities in the care sector with significant career potential.”

Operations Director Alan Betts, who was worked in the social care profession for over 30 years, added: “We’ve arranged a recruitment open day at Donyland Lodge where people can drop in to meet staff and find out more about what we do. We’re even offering on-the-day interviews.”

Mr Betts himself started in the care profession as a school leaver before joining the social care team at Essex County Council and then moving into the private sector and rising through the ranks, winning a Lifetime Achievement Award at the prestigious National Care Awards.

He said: “It really is a wonderful profession as you are making a real difference to people’s lives, helping them to live independently, take part in activities and supporting them with their everyday needs. You also receive extensive training and are part of a great team, with the opportunity for real progression with an exciting company.”

The recruitment event is being held on Tuesday January 22, from 10am until 7pm, at Donyland Lodge, Fingringhoe Road, Colchester CO5 7JL. For further information, please see or call 01787 479491.
