To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Armistice of 11 November 1918; TLC Care Homes based at Blamsters Farm in Halstead, has a plot of 8 residential homes on one site, supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex behavioural needs are aware Remembrance day and poppies are very important to some of the individuals living at Blamsters farm. We as a staff team wanted to support them to partake in showing their appreciation, especially for the fallen heroes’ in Halstead and local villages, by making a poppy display for remembrance Sunday and to add to the local community efforts.
With support from staff, over 200 poppies (all shapes and sizes) were made and painted from recycled plastic bottles, all collected by the homes along with donations from family and friends. These are now proudly displayed on a large cast iron gate on our premises. It is a beautiful display, one of which we are extremely proud of!
