About the role
We are looking for people with a positive attitude work in The Oak; it is a 7 bedded residential home set in beautiful grounds just outside Halstead. The residents that live here are wonderful individuals; who are very sociable,. They require extra support to reach their true potential of meaningful activities and making new friends.
Some of their favorite activities consist of:
Trips to the cinema
Visits to the zoo
and Arts and crafts
There is never a typical day, as it is driven by what the residents want to do. However there is nothing more meaningful than ensuring they have fun things to do in their day, and someone to share those experiences together.
Previous experience of supporting people with learning disabilities would be beneficial but not essential. What matters most is that you are patient, kind and caring, along with a desire to support people to live a fulfilling life with as much independence and choice as possible.
You’ll be supporting people in their home, working 12 hour shifts (8.00-20.00) including alternate weekends, so you need to be flexible.
