TLC Care and Support is thrilled to have received three nominations for the Essex Care Sector Awards: The Prospers 2019, which celebrate the best of care in Essex demonstrated through innovation, achievement and outstanding contribution.
Louise Richardson nominated the team at TLC’s Donyland Lodge in Fingringhoe Road, Rowhedge, for the Team Award for the support they give her daughter, Rhiannon. Plus she put the Supported Living Manager, Faye Holmes, forward for the Outstanding Leadership Award and Danielle Harms for the Outstanding Carer Award.
Louise commended Faye’s leadership skills and the encouragement she gives other team members, saying: “She has supported my daughter in developing into a trusting, confident young woman who will always needs high levels of support but is given every opportunity to fulfil her potential.”
She said it was extremely hard to put into words the difference that Danielle has made to her daughter’s life and well-being: “Danielle is passionate that she gets the best quality care and she is a role model for the standards that she believes the residents deserve.
“I hope that Danielle receives recognition for the amazing work that she does at TLC. But in mine and my daughter’s eyes she already has the prize in this category.”
Louise was also full of praise for the team: “One example was a video sent to me showing the excitement and happiness of my daughter when she was able to go on a bus for the first time in years. It is an absolute skill of the team to integrate new residents who are often unable to communicate their needs, understand and care for their needs.”
There are 16 awards up for grabs, with the results announced at a gala dinner on November 26th.
