TLC Care and Support provides fantastic career opportunities for people interested in working in the care profession. We have our own in-house training facilities and provide a clear path from Support Worker, through to Team Leader, Care Co-ordinator, Assistant Manager and Registered Manager.

You don’t need any qualifications to start your career in care. However, we’ll provide all the support and training you need to help you move through the ranks and undertake NVQ qualifications alongside valuable experience, working with people who have learning disabilities and complex needs.

Support Worker

Qualifications required:

* None

Training completed in role:


* Care certificate
* Securicare training
* Safeguarding
* ICE training
* Boots Medication Training completed during first 6 months
* Core and option units according to role

 

Team Leader

Qualifications required:


* NVQ Level 2 Care or Health & Social Care minimum required
* 2 years relevant work experience 

Training completed in role:


* As Support worker, plus …
* Willingness to work to NVQ Level 3 

Care Co-ordinator/Assistant Manager

Qualifications required:


* Level 3 NVQ in Care or Health & Social Care minimum
* Experience within a learning disability field at a Senior Level 

* Experience working with other professionals (health, local authority and CQC)
* Experience of managing conflict 

* Experience of managing staff 

Training completed in role:


* Willingness and potential to complete NVQ Level 5 Care or Health & Social Care
* Plus NVQ Level 4 Leadership & Management if undertaking the Assistant Manager role 

    Registered Manager

    Qualifications and experience needed:


    * Level 4 NVQ in Leadership & Management
    * Level 5 NVQ in Care or Health & Social Care minimum

    * 4 years’ recent experience within a learning disability field at a Senior Level
    * Experience working with other professionals (health, local authority and CQC)
    * Experience of managing conflict 

    * Experience of managing staff
